hey dee...we talked about this a lil but i want to hear what other ppl have to say. obama & his pell grant cut. it's ppl out here that depend on that check like its income tax time. plus, that's basically the only option for a inner city student to get a chance for a higher learning, or be stuck in debt with a student loan. i watched the state of the union...& i thought the best part was when he was talking about educating americans...i was like "go 'head uncle bama!". i know i depended on a pell grant to go to college & times are a lil bit rougher now from then, so, what yall think unc have up his sleeve...close this door for a better 1 to open? bcuz if not...oh boy!
ReplyDeleteWell personally I haven't been eligible for a Pell grant in quite some time now (I guess that's a good thing) but I do remember when I was eligible and yes it came in handy. I'm sure its going to put a damper on young people who really would like to finish their college ed with no other means....and its really a sad day for education. As you're aware though I'm sure making the Pell grant unavailable just makes big business for someone else...ie...the banks, government-student loans so I'm sure you know they're all for that. Not sure what's going to happen but I hope that they all keep their heads up and finish school.
